#1 Immerse your hands in cold water Fill a sink with cold water and immerse your hands up to your wrists in there until you start to feel cooler. The large vein in your wrist helps cool your circulation so if you can’t fill a sink just hold your wrist under running cold water for a few seconds every couple of hours.
#2 Keep a spray bottle in the fridge ready to spritz your face and body when you need it. You could use a natural floral water for a calming & cooling all over body spritz.
#3 Keep blinds or curtains closed during the day or the side of the house where the sun is shining. Only open windows on the side that is shaded to let the cool air in.
#4 Have a cool foot bath with a drop of Peppermint, Rosemary or Lemon essential oil for a refreshing and cooling sensation
#5 Eat little and often and avoid large heavy meals. The reason for this is because when you eat a large meal your body, your metabolic rate increases to allow the digestion of food
#6 Have a luke warm bath or shower It may be tempting to have a cold shower but your body with try and heat up to compensate for the cold soon after so go for something that feels just below your body temperature instead.
#7 Freeze a bottle of water and take it out with you so it remains cold for longer
#8 Prepare a cold compress with a drop of spearmint oil in it and place it across your forehead (avoid direct contact with your eyes) The scent will open your sinuses and help you feel cooler as well.
#9 Have a water fight! Wet clothes in hot weather really help the body to cool down! Without getting too technical the process that causes the water to evaporate will help the body adjust itself to a lower temperature.
