Best Essential Oil for Winter Wellbeing
As I write this it’s a glorious sunny and unusually warm October day but despite that there are clear signs that Winter is on it’s way. Leaves are falling, the light is fading a little earlier each day and there have been some very cold evenings too! It’s a time of transition. All these changes can be challenging for our immune systems but don’t worry because aromatherapy can provide your immune system with some extra support.
There is an excellent essential oil that is wonderful at boosting your immune system. It not only increases your white blood cell count, the part of your immune system that fights infections but it is naturally anti-viral. It was used in hospitals in the First World War as a disinfectant.
Can you guess what it is?
It’s Lemon essential oil.
Unlike other excellent antivirals like Thyme and Tea Tree, Lemon essential oil has a wonderful fresh and light scent.
How Best to Use it?
One of the fastest ways to absorb this into your body is using an oil burner or diffuser.
Put 1-3 drops in your oil burner or diffuser.
A drop or two on a tissue by the bedside is another option.
Allow the scent to cleanse your air and provide an anti-viral atmosphere. It’s good to use around those who are unwell and can help them recover as well as boosting your own immunity.
