“I just do the opposite”
I thought I’d share a little nugget of valuable advice that came up whilst talking with a client recently.
We were chatting about how the winter can make you feel sad and gloomy.
Anxiety and depression can slowly creep up on you without realising it.
My client said – “I just do the opposite to what I’m feeling …”
” If I wake up and don’t want to get out of bed, I get out of bed.”
“If I don’t feel like going out, I go out.”
“If I don’t feel like eating much, I eat.”
I just loved the simplicity of her way of dealing with feelings of depression, but it’s not always that easy is it?
She clearly has an awareness of how she is feeling and why she may be making or wanting to make the initial decisions like not getting out of bed.
Sometimes it is easier just to take action rather than think about it.
I hope you are reading this in context, yes sometimes our decisions do need consideration, but at other times we can over think to the point where we go round in circles and never move forward.
After my client shared this with me, I thought I must share this with you too, just in case it’s helpful.
Let me know and leave a comment below – or share tips you use to help you get out of bed in the morning when you don’t feel like it
Until next time, take care of YOU!
