Positivity in Uncertainty
Today I want to share some thoughts to brighten your day.
I’m not a fan of watching the news, on the one hand I’m never quite sure how much of it is actually true and on the other it is fast becoming more depressing by the day.
It’s time to acknowledge that there is a lot of uncertainty around and at the same time to assert what we CAN do to stay positive.
This photo that I took on holiday reminds me of the resilience that can be found in nature. Some flowers flourish in hard conditions.
What can I do to remain resilient?
Here are four strategies that help me stay positive in uncertain times:
No.1 – Gratitude
If I find myself upset or troubled or just notice my mood dipping – yes I’m human just like you – I think of gratitude.
What am I grateful for?
What three things right now am I truly thankful for?
The answers could be as simple as the safety of my home, this delicious cup of tea, the encouragement from my customers.
No. 2 – I no longer focus on my problems
The news seems to constantly repeat ALL the problems we face – as a country, as a world, as a parent, as an individual.
If I keep focusing on the problems I will become sad, depressed, overwhelmed.
Instead I choose to focus on solutions, I focus on what I need to be doing to get the end result!
No. 3 – What DO I have control over?
There are many things in life that we just have no control over.Instead of focusing on those, change your perspective and see what is in your control and what changes can you make to help the difficult situation.
No. 4 – Use essential oils – Bergamot, Frankincense and Geranium in particular
Scent is one of the fastest ways to affect your mood and emotions. Use products containing these oils to uplift you, to instil calm and help you re-balance.
I hope you’ve found this useful, feel free to leave a comment below.
Until next time, remember to take care of YOU!
